The Status of Sunnah in Islam, Its Relationship with the Quran — Doubts and Responses
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research is titled 'The Status of the Sunnah in Islam' and is divided into an introduction and two sections: The introduction defines the Sunnah, and the first section discusses the relationship between the Sunnah and the Holy Quran. It mentions how the Sunnah confirms the Quran, establishes rulings not covered by the Quran, and clarifies the Quran by explaining the ambiguous, elucidating complex points, detailing what is general, restricting what is absolute, specifying what is general, and so on. The second section addresses some doubts raised by those critical of the Quran and refutes them, such as the criticism that the Sunnah is unnecessary because the Quran contains everything, as well as doubts about the prophetic nature of the Sunnah, claiming that the Prophet is not infallible and may err, and that the Sunnah is not divinely protected as the Quran is. These doubts were thoroughly refuted.
